Tim Felke
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Tim comes from a family where his grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and cousins were either teachers or deeply passionate about education. Although he graduated from Arizona State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, he always felt that he would transition to education at some point.
During his aerospace career, Tim developed computer models of complex systems to improve their performance and durability. While doing this work, he became convinced that computer models were an underutilized resource for learning.
With this conviction, Tim assembled a team of like-minded professionals and founded Active Learning Labs to provide interactive lessons. Many of these lessons incorporate collaborative competitions, enriching the learning experience even further.
He lives in central Maryland with his wife of 40+ years, who, coincidentally, is also an educator.

Chief Technology Officer
With over a decade of experience in software engineering, Upesh holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science. His passion for technology and expertise in Full Stack Development, Microservices, and Solution Architecture has been transformative for ActiveLearningLabs, where he guides development and technical decisions.

With over 20 years of experience in marketing and public relations, Melissa plays a vital role in the company's growth. Her expertise in strategic communication, brand development, and customer relationship management, combined with her passion for storytelling, helps craft authentic communication strategies that strengthen customer connections and enhance their experience.

Terri Meyer
Director of Project Management
Terri holds a BA in Information and Computer Science and spent 32 years in the software development industry, primarily at IBM and Lockheed Martin. She has extensive experience across the full software development cycle in SEI CMM Level 3 and 5 organizations, holding various management positions including Project Manager for large IT contracts. Terri is PMI-ACP certified and a certified Resilient Leadership Coach, providing management and coaching services to the ALL Team.

Mark Frye
Director of Partnerships
Mark is a results-oriented professional with a diverse background in engineering, finance, and entrepreneurship. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Currently working in the automotive industry, Mark navigates the complexities of both hardware and software integration. A passionate lifelong learner with extensive world travel experience, Mark has dedicated over a decade to coaching youth soccer, shaping the lives of young athletes.

Bryan Miley
Director of Quality Assurance
Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and has worked for Honeywell, Collins Aerospace, and Northrop Grumman in an Aerospace Systems Engineering role for 25+ years. He has had a range of responsibilities including Avionics design and Flight Testing, Development of Onboard Aircraft Diagnostics Systems, Validation & Verification (V&V) Engineering, Requirements Management & Decomposition, Process Improvement Champion, User experience (UX) design, and currently as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) professional.
