For schools and districts
School and District Readiness
TeachRealMath is built for K-12 classrooms. This page gives IT teams, administrators, and procurement offices everything needed to evaluate us: privacy, security, accessibility, and how purchasing works.
Student privacy and compliance
Designed for student data privacy from the start.
- FERPA aligned. We operate under the school's direction to provide the educational service.
- COPPA aligned. Schools may provide consent on behalf of parents for educational use.
- We sign DPAs when required, including state-specific and district-specific agreements.
- We support and sign NDPA-based agreements used by many U.S. states and school districts.
- Student data is used only to provide and improve the educational service the school requested. It is never sold, rented, or used for targeted advertising.
What student data we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the product.
| Student account creation | Students provide a name and an email address, either when a teacher enrolls them or when they sign up with a class code. We recommend school-issued email addresses. |
|---|---|
| What we store | Student name and email address, class membership, activity work, and scores, so teachers can see progress and grades. |
| What we do not do | No advertising, no selling or renting of data, no student profiles for non-educational purposes. |
| Export | Schools can request a data export for their records at any time. |
| Deletion | Schools can request deletion for a student, a class, or the whole organization, consistent with the school agreement. |
| Retention | We follow retention and deletion practices consistent with school agreements. |
Security and data protection
How we protect student and school data.
- Encryption in transit. All connections use HTTPS (TLS).
- U.S. hosting. The platform is hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
- Access controls limit who can access customer data, internally and within schools.
- Operational monitoring and issue response practices are in place.
- Security questionnaires welcome. Send yours to support@activelearninglabs.com and we will respond promptly.
Accessibility
Built to be usable by every student.
- TeachRealMath is designed with accessibility in mind and follows WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines where applicable.
- If your district has specific accessibility requirements or a VPAT request, contact us and we will coordinate next steps.
Rostering and integrations
Start manually the same day, integrate when your district is ready.
- Manual class codes always work, with no integration required. Teachers can start the same day.
- Google Classroom roster sync for individual teachers (Pro and above).
- Clever and ClassLink rostering for School plans.
- SSO for School plans.
- LTI and LMS integration for School plans.
Purchasing and procurement
We support common school purchasing workflows.
- Purchase orders welcome. We require the PO before invoicing.
- Licenses activate on PO receipt, so teachers are not waiting on the payment cycle.
- Quotes on letterhead, usually same day.
- School and district invoicing, one invoice per building or per agreement.
- W-9 download and vendor onboarding details, ready on our purchasing page.
- Vendor of record: ActiveLearningLabs LLC. Contracts and invoices are issued by ActiveLearningLabs.
- Teachers asking their school to pay can use our ready-to-send funding request email.
Implementation and classroom use
Fast to start, with support during rollout.
- Teacher accounts are created in minutes, and manual class setup needs no IT involvement.
- Student onboarding options can be tailored to district needs.
- We provide responsive support during rollout, and a short implementation plan on request for schools and districts evaluating TeachRealMath.
